Greece is ... poetry

Beneath the hoar-frost, body damply torpid,
the dove that's Athens shivers,
is enraptured, and awaits the distant sunrise
like a bride.

Kostas Karyotakis

but you're still watching, over the wheel,
how, point by point, the compass dances.

Nikos Kavadias

Where we finish, appears the sea.
Speak! Say something, anything.

Kiki Dimoula

for whole days I gazed into your eyes
and I didn't know you nor did you know me.

Giorgos Seferis

Oh God, you used so much blue
so that we cannot see you.

Odysseas Elytis
